These switches are totally different from other Cisco Catalyst portfolio such as Cisco Catalyst 3650 and Cisco Catalyst 9200 series switches and are designed for small deployment with lowest complexity. Currently, two configuration options are available for these switches. First model of these switches is a smart managed switch which has a base built-in web user interface GUI running Cisco configuration professional onboard, and also, in another model, the option with full web GUI plus the addition of a command-line interface from a console port is available.
Moreover, the council functionality with these devices can be extended via Bluetooth. You can add a Bluetooth adapter and you can connect to your Catalyst 1K devices over a Bluetooth pairing link. Both models support a command-line interface just the smart managed switch is only there for show commands and you can only verify the configuration.
On the full command line capable version, you will get the full ability to configure the switch from a CLI level if you choose to use that and/or the web interface is built-in as well.
These switches are license free and clients need no licenses to use their features. However, for automation purposes leveraging from Cisco DNA subscription licenses you are able to achieve automation on your network.
These switches support 8, 16, 24, or 48 Gigabit Ethernet and 24, 48 port Fast Ethernet data or PoE+ ports with line-rate forwarding and 2 or 4 fixed 1 Gigabit Ethernet Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP)/RJ 45 Combo uplinks (8 Port models only) or 4 fixed 10 Gigabit Ethernet Enhanced SFP (SFP+) uplinks on the Gigabit Ethernet models and 4 fixed 1 Gigabit Ethernet Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) and 2 RJ 45 Combo uplinks on the Fast Ethernet models.
Customers can use the intuitive dashboard for configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting the switch trough the Web UI.
