The Cisco Nexus 6001 Series is a one rack-unit (RU) form factor with 48 fixed 1 and 10 GE ports and 4, 40 GE QSFP+ uplink ports which provides Line-rate Layer 2, Layer 3 throughput of 1.28Tbps , 48, 10 GE line-rate Layer 2, Layer 3 ports with 40 GE uplinks, 10 GE and 40 GE Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE),  Up to 1152, 1 and 10 GE server ports in conjunction with the Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders, Front-to-back air flow, Cisco FabricPath support for scalable Layer 2 networks, Advanced analytics tool kit with latency and buffer monitoring, Single point of management with Cisco Fabric Extender (FEX) Architecture, Power on auto provisioning (PoAP) and programmability abilities such as, Python scripting, Cisco Tool Command Language (TCL) scripting, Cisco's One Platform Kit 

The Cisco Nexus 6004 Switch is a Compact four-rack-unit with Eight expansion slots. It supports VXLAN, 7.68Tbps switching capacity, up to 384 10Gbps or 96 40-Gbps line-rate and up to 2304 1 or 10 Gigabit Ethernet server ports with the Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders.

It also provides Unified ports for LAN and SAN convergence (up to 160x 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet or FCoE ports and up to 60x 2/4/8Gbps Fiber Channel ports) and Cisco FabricPath support for scalable Layer 2 networks. This switch enables advanced analytics toolkit with latency and buffer monitoring and Dynamic Fabric Automation (DFA) plus PowerOn Auto Provisioning (PoAP) for automated virtualized and cloud deployments. Moreover, Programmability features such as, Python scripting, TCL scripting, the Cisco One Platform Kit (onePK; supported in future software release) eases the network procedures.

Alongside with other Cisco products, Cisco Nexus 6000 License is converted to Cisco Smart Licensing.

Cisco Nexus 6000 smart license could be purchased with a Cisco smart account in the Cisco Smart Software Management website. Also, Nexus 6000 PLR smart license provides all product instance’s activation permanently with no need to connect through the Internet.
