Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch helps any businesses to keep safe within changes today and can be ready for tomorrow’s needs to. organization with growing bandwidth especially those want to adapt 802.11ac Wave2, can’t benefit from Catalyst 3850 multigigabit switches which offers performance beyond 1Gbit/s without replacing existing Cat5e cabling.
By using NBASE-T technology these switches support 1G, 2.5G and 5G on CAT5e cabling and up to 10G with CAT6a cabling. These switches are built based on UDAP ASIC chipset which let you to have same services for wired and wireless.
Catalyst 3850 brings full consistency, deep visibility and QoS across wired and wireless domains. Multigigabit technology offers power over Ethernet up to 60W which is available on 24-port and 48-port models with new high performance uplink modules and fully-stackable switches.
While increasing bandwidth on access switches can cause congestion in the backbone, Cisco Catalyst 3850’s 10Gb aggregation switches are a great way to upgrade to net-gen enterprise backbone that also based on the UADP ASIC which features programmability data plate which supports software-defined networking services.
Cisco 3850’s 10Gb Fiber switches are an ideal way to upgrade from 1Gb Fiber to 10Gb deployments which can provide capacity for comprehensive applications, more users and other changing need.
These switches are built for optimum resiliency and they support redundant power supplies and feature StackPower which is an adaptable pool of power available for stack members. For organization with high port density needs a 48x10G port and 4x40G can be offered.

By default, all Catalyst 3850 switches support traditional licensing using PAKs to activate different instances. Although, after updating IOS XE to the latest version, Cisco smart licensing would be replaced and supported.
Cisco Catalyst 3850 smart license is available after updating the device’s IOS to latest version. All product instances would be registered after purchasing and assigning license in the CSSM and by a valid smart account. However, for highly secure environments Catalyst 3850 PLR license can be used to register all instances permanently.
